Corregidora launches scholarship program and waste collection campaign

The municipal government of Corregidora has launched several local initiatives. Mayor Chepe Guerrero announced the second stage of the ‘Becas A Paso Firme 2026’ scholarship program. The initiative provides financial support of up to 3,000 pesos to students in public and private primary, secondary, and university schools. Registration is open from August 24 to September 11 via the municipal website.

Requirements for primary and secondary students include a birth certificate, CURP, and a minimum grade average of 8.0. University students must provide additional documentation and maintain a minimum average of 8.5.

Additionally, the municipality has started the 2026-2027 ‘Campaña de Recolección de Tiliches’. This program allows residents to request the door-to-door pickup of unused furniture and household items to prevent illegal dumping in streets or drainage areas. The collection schedule spans from late August through September across various neighborhoods, including Candiles, Misión San Carlos, and Villas Campestre. Residents can schedule pickups via a dedicated chatbot.
