Correos honors Tren de Utrillas with commemorative stamp

Correos has introduced a new commemorative stamp and postcard as part of its ‘Historical Trains’ series, dedicated to the Tren de Utrillas in Teruel. The release aims to preserve and promote the memory of this railway, which is deeply connected to the industrial and mining history of the province.

The presentation ceremony took place at the Mining and Railway Theme Park of Utrillas, near the Santa Bárbara Well. The event included local officials, including the Mayor of Utrillas, Joaquín Moreno Latorre, and representatives from the Asociación Zaragozana de Amigos del Ferrocarril y Tranvías (AZAFT).

The Tren de Utrillas was historically significant for transporting coal from the Teruel mining basins to Zaragoza. The philatelic release includes a stamp valued at 3 € and a commemorative postcard featuring historical imagery of the railway.
