Correos launches email verification tool to combat shipping fraud

The Spanish postal service, Correos, has introduced a new security tool designed to help citizens identify fraudulent emails. Cybercriminals frequently impersonate the company by sending fake notifications regarding pending package deliveries to deceive recipients.

To verify the legitimacy of a communication, users can visit the official Correos website and enter their email address along with a specific verification code. This alphanumeric code is located in a yellow box at the bottom of all authentic Correos shipping emails. The tool will then confirm whether the message is a legitimate communication from the company or a potential fraud attempt. If the email is flagged as fake, users are advised to delete it immediately without clicking any links or providing personal information.
