Correos Secures Postal Savings for Palencia and Keeps Puerto Real Office Open

The Palencia City Council has joined the regional framework agreement for postal services negotiated by the Junta of Castilla y León and Correos. The 42‑month deal, running until the end of 2029, gives the municipality a 32 % discount on standard items such as certified letters, reducing the cost of a typical letter from €5.74 to €3.88 and saving the council an average of €1,277 per day.

In Andalusia, Correos reversed a planned closure of the Río San Pedro post office in Puerto Real after strong neighbourhood, political and municipal opposition. The territorial directorate confirmed the office will remain operational, preserving postal access for residents in the district about five kilometres from the town centre.
