Correos unveils stamp marking 600 years of Roma presence in Spain

Correos has introduced a commemorative stamp in Plasencia to mark 600 years of the Roma people's presence in Spain. The presentation took place at the Santa María Cultural Complex and was attended by local government officials and representatives from the Federation of Associations of the Gypsy People of Extremadura.

The Roma community's presence in the Iberian Peninsula has been documented since 1425, following a safe-conduct issued by King Alfonso V of Aragon. The initiative highlights the community's significant cultural, artistic, and identity-based contributions to Spanish heritage over the past six centuries.
