Corrientes and UNICEF coordinate to strengthen public health

The Ministry of Public Health of Corrientes and UNICEF Argentina are working toward a cooperation agreement to strengthen sanitary actions in the province. The collaboration focuses on primary care, immunization, and maternal and child health.

Key objectives include strengthening the capacity of health personnel in maternity wards and Primary Health Care Centers (CAPS), as well as reviewing protocols and regulations. Officials noted that Corrientes has shown sustained progress in health indicators in recent years, and the partnership aims to identify and deepen the actions driving these improvements.

Specific initiatives discussed include training programs and the monitoring of pregnant women in hospitals and CAPS to identify high-risk pregnancies. The meeting involved health officials and UNICEF specialists to address sanitary factors related to the development of children, adolescents, and pregnant individuals.
