Corrientes, Argentina hosts major 2026 livestock and buffalo expos

The Sociedad Rural de Corrientes in the city of Riachuelo welcomed two large agricultural exhibitions in May 2026. The Nacionales 2026 fair, held May 24‑29, displayed more than 1,000 Brahman, Braford, Brangus cattle and Criollo horses. Governor Juan Pablo Valdés opened the event, stating “Corrientes is a livestock land, of tradition, work and production,” and highlighted the province’s rank as the nation’s third‑largest livestock producer and its genetic quality.

A week earlier, the XXVI Expo Búfalos 2026 gathered over 750 high‑genetic‑quality buffalo from May 11‑13. Organizer Carlos Noguera declared, “The buffalo is in ebullición; it has grown continuously over the last 15 years.” The expo featured record‑high commercial bids, AI‑driven agri‑technology talks, and emphasized the buffalo’s strategic role in marginal lands where traditional beef cattle struggle.

Both events attracted provincial and national officials, producers from across Argentina and neighboring countries, and underscored Corrientes’ aim to promote innovation, youth involvement, and resilient livestock production in the face of droughts and economic challenges.
