Corrientes authorities evict vendors from Route 12 for roadworks

Authorities in Corrientes have evicted irregular vendors from National Route 12 to allow roadwork to resume. The intervention was requested by Vialidad Nacional to the Corrientes Municipality after the presence of the stalls prevented workers from continuing construction near the Virgen roundabout.

While the occupants claimed they had received no prior warnings, official records indicate a formal process involving 19 previous notifications, including inspections and formal complaints, dating back to 2024. None of the vendors possessed valid commercial permits or authorizations for the area. The highway project is considered essential infrastructure for local traffic and circulation in the city.
