Corrientes celebrates Día del Comparsero and carnival traditions

In Corrientes, Argentina, the Día del Comparsero is being celebrated, highlighting the cultural and economic importance of carnival festivities in the region.

In Bella Vista, Marilyn Martínez Vidal of Comparsa Anahí noted that the presence of three local carnival groups has contributed to growth in tourism and community activity. To support the 2027 season, the groups are organizing a joint bingo event at the Estadio Ciudad with support from Mayor Noelia Bazzi. The event will feature various prizes, including cash and a motorcycle.

In Monte Caseros, the festivities also recognize long-standing community members, such as Natalia Acuña, who has dedicated much of her life to the Carún Berá carnival group. These celebrations underscore the year-round dedication of local performers and the deep connection between the carnival traditions and the local population.
