Corrientes Health Ministry Tightens Ophthalmology Regulation

The Argentine Ministry of Public Health, led by Minister Emilio Lanari Zubiaur, met with the Corrientes Association of Ophthalmology and Implantology (ACIPOC) to reinforce provincial controls over eye‑care campaigns. Authorities stressed that all ophthalmology consultations must be performed by professionals registered in Corrientes and in facilities authorized by the ministry, as mandated by Provincial Law No. 2839.

ACIPOC president Osiris Mongiat said any operations outside the legal framework will be “disaffiliated and closed,” and must be overseen by a licensed ophthalmologist who provides a signed prescription in an approved venue. The ministry’s health inspection director, Manuel Carles, warned that non‑compliant activities could face judicial intervention.

The initiative aims to ensure safe, legal, and high‑quality eye‑care services for the community.
