Corrientes rainfall reaches high levels in August 2026
The province of Corrientes, Argentina, recorded significant rainfall variations across different localities during August 2026. According to data from the Secretariat of Forest and Industrial Development, Virasoro saw the highest precipitation levels with 288.4 mm, followed by the northern area of the Iberá Reserve with 241 mm and Ituzaingó with 230 mm.
In Monte Caseros, August rainfall reached 114.3 mm, bringing its year-to-date total to 957.9 mm. Other notable measurements included Esquina with 194 mm and San Borjita with 144.6 mm. The provincial capital, Corrientes, recorded 135.4 mm for the month.
Conversely, some areas experienced much lower rainfall. Goya and Yataití Calle recorded the lowest amounts, with 43.4 mm and 44 mm respectively. These figures are part of ongoing meteorological monitoring conducted by provincial authorities, including the Ministry of Production, to assess the impact of weather patterns on productive activities and water basins.
