Corrientes women’s basketball teams claim top spots in national tournaments

The Ni Ni Fem squad, composed of players from CEF № 101, finished fourth in the Argentino Femenino +50 tournament held July 17‑19 in Ituzaingó, Corrientes. After a tight semifinal lost in a 12‑11 tie‑break, the team secured the bronze‑plus position and is preparing for the provincial competition in August in Nueve de Julio.

The Corrientes selection known as Las Yacarecitas won the Argentine Maxibásquet +35 championship, the 22nd edition staged across several venues in Santa Fe. The roster, 85% from Goya, defeated the host side of Santa Fe, which placed second, while Jujuy took third. Coach Gustavo Montenegro and assistant Brenda Cardozo led the champions, marking a historic achievement for the province’s women's basketball.
