Corruption investigations involving officials in Honduras and Argentina

In Honduras, the Public Ministry has filed a formal request against a prosecutor from the Northern Regional office in San Pedro Sula. The official is accused of the crime of extortion (concusión) for allegedly demanding money in exchange for closing criminal complaints. The arrest was carried out by the Technical Criminal Investigation Agency (ATIC) with legal guidance from the Special Prosecutor's Office for Transparency and Combatting Public Corruption.

In Argentina, two police officers, Bernardo Agustín González and Bruno Santiago Vignatti, received sentences for bribery related to the Automotive Verification Plant in Esperanza, Santa Fe. The officers admitted to irregular practices involving the issuance of official vehicle verification forms without proper inspections or fee payments in exchange for cash.

The court imposed conditional prison sentences of three years, permanent disqualification from police service, and significant fines of 11,520,000 and 8,000,000 pesos, respectively. Both individuals were released following the sentencing.
