France introduces subsidies for bioethanol conversion and heating upgrades
In France, several regional and national initiatives are targeting household costs and energy transitions. The Région Sud has reactivated its ‘Chèque transition bioéthanol’, providing a €250 subsidy to non-taxable households to install E85 bioethanol conversion kits in gasoline vehicles. With a budget of €500,000, the program aims to support approximately 2,000 motorists in reducing fuel expenses.
Additionally, a new financing solution for heating systems has been implemented as of October 1. This program assists low-income homeowners in replacing old heating units with modern equipment, such as heat pumps. The initiative can provide an average of €9,800 in aid, with several major companies, including Engie and TotalEnergies, participating in the rollout.
Other local news includes a slight increase in real estate transaction volume in Charlevoix despite a 2% drop in the number of sales, and the 57th edition of the Malestroit commercial fortnight, which features €18,000 in prizes to support local businesses.
