FLNC-UC Corsica antiterrorist investigation autonomy law threats to non‑Corsicans

The Corsican separatist group Front de libération nationale corse – Union des combattants (FLNC‑UC) held a clandestine press conference, broadcast only by Corse‑Matin, in which it threatened people coming to live on the island. The group denounced the French‑backed autonomy process as a "masquerade" and declared it was "already in the after‑Beauvau", accusing nationalist parties such as Femu a Corsica, Core in Fronte and the Parti de la nation corse of betraying the Corsican people. It also warned that roughly 5,000 foreigners, mainly French, arrive each year, calling them "invaders".

In response, the French National Antiterrorist Prosecutor (Parquet national antiterroriste) opened a preliminary investigation for "association of criminals in view of preparing terrorist acts". The probe also covers the acquisition, possession and transport of weapons and ammunition of categories A and B linked to a terrorist enterprise. The autonomy law was approved by the French National Assembly on 23 June and is slated for Senate review from 21 October. The investigation is ongoing.

The FLNC‑UC also targeted "high‑level manipulators", Corsican financial groups and anti‑mafia collectives, urging the broader Corsican resistance movement to create a new political balance of power.
