Corsican Resistance history and Belgian literacy campaigns highlighted

Historical accounts of Corsica during the Occupation highlight the development of clandestine life between November 1942 and September 1943. Supported by local population solidarity, resistance members and intelligence agents utilized the island's dense vegetation, forests, and mountainous terrain to evade detection by the OVRA and carabiniers. Resistance figures such as Arthur Giovoni and Paul Giacobbi operated under harsh conditions, often finding refuge in villages, hamlets, or remote mountain shelters.

In separate news, the organization Lire et Écrire has launched a campaign titled ‘Lire et écrire, ça change la vie’ (Reading and writing change lives) to mark International Literacy Day.
