Cortes of Castilla-La Mancha approves water and fire resolutions

The Cortes of Castilla-La Mancha has approved three resolutions concerning water management, forest fires, and the reception of minors. During the session in Toledo, a minute of silence was observed for victims of recent violence and accidents.

A key debate focused on the protection and planning of water resources. Proposed by the Socialist Group and supported by Sustainable Development Counselor Mercedes Gómez, the resolution passed with 17 votes in favor and 15 against. The text calls for political unity and social consensus to prioritize the use of available water within the region. It advocates for hydrological planning that ensures sufficient quantity and quality for current and future needs, emphasizing sustainability, territorial balance, and respect for ecological flows.

Additionally, the institution debuted a new automatic subtitling system powered by artificial intelligence. Developed in-house as part of an accessibility plan under the presidency of Pablo Bellido, the tool allows for near real-time following of parliamentary interventions.
