Cortina d'Ampezzo chairlift offers discounts for card payments

The Bai de Dones chairlift, also known as the 5 Torri chairlift in Cortina d'Ampezzo, has introduced a 5% discount for customers who pay with credit cards during the month of August. This policy applies to various ticket types, including adult, youth, and group tickets. For a standard 30 euro round-trip adult ticket, the card payment price is 28.50 euro, offering a 1.50 euro saving per person.

In addition to the financial incentive, the digital payment method is intended to speed up transactions and reduce wait times at the cash desk. This move contrasts with many other businesses that often prefer cash or apply surcharges for card usage.

However, the initiative has drawn scrutiny from the Unione Nazionale Consumatori. The consumer organization has raised concerns regarding whether price differentials based on payment methods comply with the Consumer Code.
