Cortina d'Ampezzo expands destination wedding offerings in the Dolomites

The destination wedding sector is seeing a significant rise in popularity, with a growing trend toward high-altitude mountain ceremonies. In Italy, weddings involving foreign couples reached approximately 16,700 in 2025, marking a 9.8% increase from the previous year. This segment contributed over 1.1 billion euros in turnover and generated 3 million overnight stays.

In the Dolomites, Cortina Skiworld is capitalizing on this trend by utilizing its network of cable cars, funiculars, and chairlifts to provide access to mountain refuges and panoramic terraces for ceremonies. This allows couples and guests to reach scenic locations that were previously difficult to access, transforming the wedding from a brief ceremony into an immersive mountain experience.
