Coruña Suma employment program named finalist in Europa Se Siente awards

The municipal employment program ‘Coruña Suma’ has been named a finalist in the ‘Europa Se Siente 2026’ national competition. Organized by the Spanish Ministry of Finance through the General Secretariat of European Funds, the awards recognize initiatives funded by the European Union that promote social welfare and opportunity creation.

Developed by the A Coruña City Council between 2018 and 2023, Coruña Suma focused on the social and labor inclusion of vulnerable populations, including the long-term unemployed, immigrants, people with disabilities, and women in precarious situations. The project provided personalized guidance, specialized training, and internships, serving approximately 4,800 people.

Competing in the ‘Social’ category against eight other projects, Coruña Suma was one of the three most voted initiatives. The final round will take place in Alcoy on November 12, where project leaders must present a formal defense of their initiative.
