Coruche Biennial to host 12th edition of art festival

The 12th edition of the Bienal de Coruche will take place from October 3 to October 25, centered on the theme ‘Conexões’ (Connections). Organized by the Municipality of Coruche and curated by artist João Maria Ferreira, the event features ten selected projects from the ‘Percursos com Arte’ competition.

The program integrates visual arts, photography, cinema, and participatory actions throughout the town. Key installations include the ‘Jardim Montado’ in Jardim 25 de Abril, which features sculptures made from recycled materials, and the ‘Rio da Memória’ project by Diogo MM Nunes, which utilizes plastics collected from the Sorraia River.

Other scheduled activities include a mural by Jorge Charrua at the Municipal Market, waste collection efforts at the Sorraia River, and various sessions involving poetry, theater, concerts, and debates on topics such as mental health and artificial intelligence in art.
