Coruche hosts Terras sem Sombra festival concerts, heritage tour and biodiversity walk

The Terras sem Sombra festival continues in Coruche with a series of cultural events. On Saturday night, the Trio Berenson performs a concert titled “Cúspides do Sentimento: Uma Aproximação à Música dos Séculos XVIII‑XX” at the Igreja da Misericórdia, playing works by Joseph Haydn, Antonín Dvořák and Joaquín Turina.

Earlier on Saturday, archaeologist Cristina Calais leads the heritage activity “Uma Rota Milenar: O Megalitismo na Região de Coruche”, a guided tour of the area’s most significant megalithic monuments. On Sunday morning, a biodiversity safeguard action – “Do Arroz ao Pinhão: Em Torno da Obra de Irrigação do Vale do Sorraia (1951‑2026)” – examines the impact of historic irrigation infrastructure on agricultural landscapes and natural habitats, with experts from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia and the local irrigation association. The municipality of Coruche co‑organises all activities as part of the 2026 edition of the Terras sem Sombra festival, which blends culture, heritage and nature across Portugal.
