COSAP calls for NUE 112 protocol changes after A1 motorway tragedy

Following a tragic incident on the A1 motorway involving Lorena Isceri, the police union COSAP is calling for an urgent institutional review of the NUE 112 emergency response protocols. Investigators are examining the possibility that the assault on Isceri was premeditated. Reports indicate she attempted to contact emergency services from a car trunk, with the call lasting approximately twenty minutes before disconnecting.

COSAP is not seeking to assign blame to individual operators or abolish the NUE 112 system. Instead, the union is proposing a new “Life Danger” protocol. This would create a high-priority channel for calls involving active crimes, such as kidnappings, ongoing assaults, or imminent threats to life. The proposal suggests that essential information should be transmitted immediately to police operational rooms to ensure rapid intervention, while secondary bureaucratic details can be collected and integrated after the initial response is triggered.
