COSCO SHIPPING’s OLP A.E. and Greece’s National Technical University sign port innovation MoU

The port operator OLP A.E., a member of COSCO SHIPPING, and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create a strategic partnership for research, technological advancement and sustainable development in the port sector. The agreement targets smart‑port technologies, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, maritime safety and logistics, with plans for joint research projects, knowledge exchange, and support for educational initiatives.

OLP A.E. President Han Chao said the collaboration will strengthen the link between academic knowledge and the port industry, helping modernise the Piraeus Port. NTUA Vice‑Rector Prof. Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou added that the partnership will boost innovative solutions that enhance the competitiveness of Piraeus and Greece as an international shipping hub. The MoU marks the start of a long‑term cooperation aimed at leveraging scientific expertise for the benefit of the Greek economy and maritime sector.
