Cosentino partners with Microsoft to pioneer AI‑driven material design in Spain

The Almería‑based multinational Cosentino has become the first Spanish industrial company to work with Microsoft Discovery, an artificial‑intelligence platform aimed at anticipating material formulations, cutting physical experimentation and creating previously infeasible architectural materials. The partnership builds on years of collaboration that already includes Microsoft 365, Power BI and cloud services, and now adds projects such as factory sensorisation, Internet‑of‑Things deployment and AI‑enhanced operational insight.

Key initiatives involve a “Journey to Cloud” that migrated Cosentino’s SAP system to Azure, delivering up to a 97.3 % improvement in critical processing times, and modernising the call centre with Azure Communication Services and Dynamics 365 Contact Center. Data management is being unified on Microsoft Fabric with specialist partner Celonis, supporting a “Frontier Firm” model that places AI at the core of internal processes, employee experience, customer interaction and innovation.

The collaboration is presented as a catalyst for accelerating the company’s digital transformation, advancing Industry 4.0 capabilities and establishing a new AI‑centric business model for the Spanish industrial sector.
