Cosenza advances road maintenance and stadium redevelopment

The Province of Cosenza is continuing its road infrastructure program, focusing on maintenance, paving, and safety improvements across several provincial roads. Key works include paving on the SP 241 between Laino Castello and Laino Borgo, as well as ongoing projects on the SP 153 and SP 162. Other interventions involve the SP 139, the Frascineto junction near the A2 motorway, and various roads in the Arbëria area. Additionally, lighting installations in the Rossano tunnel and a new roundabout in Malito are nearing completion.

Separately, the Municipality of Cosenza has approved a 7 million euro executive project for the redevelopment of the San Vito–Marulla stadium. Funded through the 2021-2027 FSC programming, the project includes structural renovations to the North and South curves, removal of architectural barriers, and upgrades to surveillance, lighting, and fire prevention systems. To comply with Council of State rulings, construction must be managed so it does not interfere with Cosenza Calcio’s home matches, potentially through capacity limits or phased scheduling.
