Cosenza: Arson investigation continues at Ecologia Oggi headquarters

Two months after an arson attack at the Ecologia Oggi headquarters in Cosenza, investigations into the incident remain inconclusive. The fire occurred during the night between July 4 and July 5 at the company’s site in the via Popilia district.

The incident follows a request for trial by the Catanzaro District Anti-Mafia Directorate (Dda) against an individual known as “Gargamella” regarding charges of illegal waste trafficking and environmental pollution. The company has held a waste collection monopoly in Cosenza since approximately 2009-2010.
