Cosenza football club seeks State Council appeal to keep Marulla stadium open

The Cosenza Calcio football club is preparing to file an urgent precautionary appeal with Italy's Consiglio di Stato in an effort to suspend the ruling of the Tar della Calabria that ordered the closure of the Stadio Gigi Marulla. The regional administrative court had previously rejected the club's request for a temporary suspension, leaving the municipal orders that block all sporting activities at the venue in force. If the higher court does not intervene, the stadium is set to remain unavailable for matches and training from 17 August.

Club officials hope the State Council will overturn the first‑instance decision and restore access to the stadium for upcoming fixtures. Meanwhile, training continues on the Marulla grounds under coach Federico Coppitelli, and the transfer market remains active, with several players linked to moves in and out of the club.
