Cosenza joins the National Association of Wine Cities

The city of Cosenza has officially joined the National Association of Wine Cities (Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino), which also grants the city membership in the European Network of Wine Cities. The decision was approved unanimously by the City Council.

This move aims to promote the local viticultural heritage, specifically focusing on the Donnici area and the 'Terre di Cosenza' designation. Local officials, including Mayor Franz Caruso and Councilor Rosario Branda, stated that the membership is intended to leverage wine production as a driver for economic, cultural, and tourism development. The initiative seeks to integrate wine promotion with the preservation of rural landscapes, local gastronomy, and traditional knowledge to benefit local farms, restaurants, and hospitality services.
