Cosenza judge suspended following sexual harassment allegations

The High Council of the Judiciary (CSM) has suspended a 35-year-old criminal judge from the Cosenza Court, stripping him of both his duties and his salary. The disciplinary action follows allegations of sexual harassment involving an 18-year-old woman.

According to the complaint, the magistrate, a former police commissioner, used a request for directions to the Duomo as a pretext to approach the young woman while driving. It is alleged that he directed obscene remarks toward her and exposed his genitals. The victim reportedly photographed his license plate, allowing the Carabinieri to identify him.

The judge disputes the full extent of the accusations. While he admitted to making sexual advances and placing a hand near his waist, he denies the allegation that he exposed himself. The CSM's decision was made following a request from the Prosecutor General of the Court of Cassation.
