Cosenza Province and Caccamo Municipality approve financial recovery plans

The Commission for the Financial Stability of Local Authorities (Cosfel) gave a favourable opinion to the balanced budget proposal of the municipality of Caccamo for the period 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024. The approval, confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior, certifies the municipality’s fiscal recovery after a declared state of financial distress and moves it toward exiting the special administration.

In the province of Cosenza, the provincial council approved a multi‑year financial rebalancing plan. The agenda included recognition of off‑balance‑sheet debts of about €3.5 million, a revision of revenue structures, and measures that have already reduced the deficit from roughly €82 million to €76 million. The council’s decisions aim to stabilise the province’s finances and restore credibility to its budgetary management.
