Cosenza slot machine investigation leads to 15 precautionary measures
A judicial investigation in Cosenza has resulted in 15 precautionary measures against individuals suspected of involvement in a scheme to manipulate slot machines. The investigation focuses on a system allegedly designed to alter gaming equipment to divert a portion of earnings away from official state registration and tax calculations. This was reportedly achieved by using a secondary electronic card alongside the official state-connected card.
The probe also examines allegations of corruption involving a customs and monopolies official, who is accused of providing advance notice regarding inspection dates and objectives. Following preliminary interrogations, the judge issued various measures, including house arrest for Francesco Gaudio and Carmine Galizia, a ban from the Cosenza province for Pino Tenuta, and several other restrictions and interdictory measures for other suspects.
