Cosmetic science firms Naris and Proya recognized at IFSCC Congress 2026
Cosmetic science companies Naris Cosmetics and Proya Cosmetics received significant recognition at the IFSCC Congress 2026 held in Perth, Australia.
Naris Cosmetics presented research revealing that the enlargement of corneocytes due to aging may actually drive the decline in skin cell proliferation, rather than being a mere result of it. Using AI-driven analysis, the company discovered that enlarged cells allow the skin barrier to be filled with fewer cells, which in turn signals the skin to reduce new cell production. This finding suggests that controlling cell size could be a key factor in maintaining healthy skin regeneration.
Proya Cosmetics achieved a historic milestone by winning the 2026 IFSCC Podium Fundamental Research Award for its study on how MGME1-mediated mitochondrial DNA replication homeostasis regulates skin fibroblast senescence. Proya also secured a spot as a Top 10 finalist for a separate research paper, making it the first Chinese company to receive two awards simultaneously at the congress. The company had 20 total works accepted at the event, setting a record for a Chinese cosmetics firm.
