COSMO Pharmaceuticals stock falls despite positive hair loss drug trial data

COSMO Pharmaceuticals has seen its share price drop to 57.90 Swiss francs, a significant decline from the peak of 124.50 francs reached between December 2025 and March 2026. The previous surge followed the company's announcement of “groundbreaking” Phase III clinical trial results for Clascoterone, a 5 percent topical solution for hair loss.

The clinical studies reported statistically significant improvements in target hair counts, with one study showing a 539 percent relative improvement and another showing 168 percent compared to placebos. Both studies also demonstrated a positive safety profile. Despite these results, the stock has fallen below the price recorded at the time of the initial announcement.

Legal experts have noted that while the term “groundbreaking” is not a regulatory violation, the clarity of how such large percentage improvements translate to practical outcomes is a point of discussion. COSMO is currently preparing regulatory filings, with plans to submit a New Drug Application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and European filings in early 2027.
