Cosmopolitan University receives permanent operational licence

Cosmopolitan University in Abuja has been awarded a permanent operational licence by the National Universities Commission (NUC) after successfully completing a three-year probationary period.

During the presentation of the licence in Abuja, NUC Executive Secretary Abdullahi Ribadu stated that the institution underwent a rigorous assessment of its academic processes, staff, students, and general operational activities. Ribadu noted that the probationary period serves as a monitoring phase to determine whether an institution meets the requirements for a full licence or if its existing licence should be withdrawn.

While some institutions are granted extensions to remedy identified shortcomings, Cosmopolitan University passed the verification process. Ribadu urged the university management to maintain high academic standards and strict quality controls, particularly regarding the recruitment of academic staff.
