Cosmopoética director Pablo Téllez de la Poza dies in traffic accident

Pablo Téllez de la Poza, the 49-year-old director of Verbo Servicios Culturales, died in a motorcycle accident in Córdoba on the night of Thursday, September 24. The accident occurred on Avenida Agrupación/Calle Los Artesanos when his vehicle was struck by a car. Emergency services were unable to save his life, and authorities are currently investigating the causes of the crash.

Téllez de la Poza was responsible for organizing the 2026 edition of the Cosmopoética International Poetry Festival, an event promoted by the Córdoba City Council. His death occurred just hours before the festival's scheduled opening on Friday, September 25. The current edition, themed ‘Inventar la alegría’ and dedicated to Jorge Luis Borges, is set to run until October 3.

A trained scenographer and experienced cultural producer, Téllez de la Poza had been a key figure in various literary and cultural initiatives, including the Eutopía festival and Marpoética. His company, Verbo Servicios Culturales, has been active in the cultural sector for two decades.
