Cosmos flowers reach peak bloom in Ayabe and Tochigi

Cosmos flowers are reaching their peak bloom in several locations across Japan, offering seasonal scenery for visitors.

In Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture, approximately 300,000 cosmos flowers are currently in full bloom at the Yuragawa Flower Garden in Aono-cho. Known as a field where visitors can pick flowers, the garden features pink, red, and white blossoms and offers free admission.

In Tochigi City, vibrant cosmos in shades of pink, white, yellow, and orange are blooming in a fallow field in Shizuko, Iwafune-machi. The field, covering about 45 ares, was established in 2023 by local residents Takashi Tochigi and Toshifumi Tochigi to encourage community interaction. The flowers, which were sown in late August with local seniors and children, are expected to remain in bloom until the end of the month.
