Cosori recalls millions of air fryers due to fire risk

Cosori has issued a major safety recall for approximately 2 million air fryers sold between June 2018 and December 2022. The recall, announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, affects roughly 250,000 units in Canada and 21,000 units in Mexico.

The defect involves internal wiring connections that can overheat under certain conditions. This poses a risk of smoke, melting, or fire. Reports indicate 205 incidents of overheating, smoking, or burning, resulting in 10 cases of minor superficial burns and 23 reports of minor property damage.

The recall specifically targets certain 3.7-quart and 5.8-quart models, including model numbers CP158-AF, CP137-AF, CS158-AF, CO137-AF, CO158-AF, and CP258-AF, along with various sub-variants. Consumers are advised to check the model number on the bottom of the device or in the instruction manual to determine if their unit is affected.
