Cospedal and Villarejo audio identified in Kitchen case investigation

The Spanish Police Internal Affairs Unit has submitted a report to the National Court regarding a derivative of the Kitchen case. The report identifies audio recordings of conversations between former People's Party (PP) Secretary General María Dolores de Cospedal and former police commissioner José Villarejo that may provide evidence of criminal activity.

Investigators identified three specific audio files whose dates and content correspond with entries in Villarejo's personal agendas. One entry describes a meeting with Cospedal that was moved from the Orfila hotel to the PP headquarters. During this meeting, Cospedal allegedly requested an analysis of Ezquerra and promised to pay a debt of 100.

While the audio content aligns with agenda notes, the police report notes that the actual audio files, related emails, and corresponding bank transfers have not yet been located within the existing case files.
