Costa Blanca luxury housing draws 72% foreign buyers

International purchasers account for about 72% of luxury home transactions on Spain's Costa Blanca, according to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Spain data. Buyers mainly come from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany, with growing interest from Belgium, France, Poland and other northern and eastern European markets.

Properties priced above €2 million represent roughly 10% of the market, with average premium listings around €4.5‑€8 million. The most sought‑after locations include El Portet in Moraira, Altea Hills, Benissa Costa and Les Rotes in Dénia, where contemporary villas, renovated farmhouses, penthouses and sea‑view apartments command high prices. In the province of Alicante, foreign buyers completed 43.29% of all home sales in 2025, the highest share nationwide.

Buyers are looking for more than a second residence; they prioritize lifestyle factors such as privacy, modern architecture, energy efficiency, premium services, proximity to golf courses, marinas and international schools, and year‑round Mediterranean climate.
