Costa Cruzeiros announces leadership changes for Americas Region
Costa Cruzeiros has announced a leadership transition for its Americas Region. Dario Rustico will depart the company on September 14 to pursue personal goals after a 24-year tenure. Jorge Serrano Martín de Vidales, currently managing sales for Spain and Portugal, has been appointed as the new Director for the Americas Region.
De Vidales will undergo a transfer to the company’s Brazil office and is scheduled to formally assume his new role in January 2027. Until then, the Americas Region team will report directly to Luigi Stefanelli, Costa’s World Vice President of Sales.
Separately, executives from major cruise lines, including MSC Cruzeiros, Costa Cruzeiros, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), and Royal Caribbean, discussed the Brazilian market at the Clia Forum 2026 in Brasília. Industry leaders highlighted that cruise ship positioning is planned two to four years in advance, emphasizing the need for regulatory and tax predictability to avoid disrupting seasons that are often 60% to 85% sold before new laws take effect.
