Costa degli Etruschi launches 347-km cycling tour
The Grand Tour Costa degli Etruschi, a new 347-kilometer cycling itinerary, is being introduced to connect coastal areas with inland villages, hills, and vineyards. Spanning from Rosignano Marittimo to Piombino, the route is designed to link various municipalities within the Costa degli Etruschi tourist area, utilizing existing roads and unpaved paths suitable for gravel and mountain bikes.
Funded by PNRR through the Green Community Costa degli Etruschi project, the full development of the route is expected to be completed by March 2026. The itinerary includes notable locations such as the Bolgheri vineyards, the Gulf of Baratti, and the thermal areas of Venturina and Sassetta. The project also aims to integrate with railway stations to facilitate travel combining trains and bicycles.
The initiative has already received national recognition, earning a special “Silenzio” mention at the Green Road Award 2026 for its focus on quiet, sustainable tourism.
