Costa del Sol tourism highlights Estepona and Marbella

The Costa del Sol region in Andalusia offers diverse experiences ranging from the traditional charm of Estepona to the seasonal shifts of Marbella. Estepona, often referred to as the ‘Jardín de la Costa del Sol’, is noted for its narrow streets filled with flowers, urban art, and literary references to authors such as Lorca and Shakespeare. The town maintains a traditional Andalusian atmosphere with a local fishing port and a multicultural population, where approximately one-quarter of its 78,000 residents are foreign nationals.

Marbella provides a different perspective, particularly during the off-season. Away from the typical perceptions of high-end ostentation, the area offers a more tranquil environment characterized by a Mediterranean microclimate protected by the Sierra Blanca mountains. During the autumn and winter months, the region features fewer tourists and a more relaxed pace of life, centered around its white-walled architecture and coastal scenery.
