Costa do Descobrimento to host Festa da Exaltação da Santa Cruz

The Festa da Exaltação da Santa Cruz will take place from September 11 to 14, 2026, in the Costa do Descobrimento region of Bahia, Brazil. Organized by Movimento Brasil com Fé in partnership with the Santuário Cristo Redentor and the Instituto Redemptor, the event combines religious activities with cultural programming focused on regional history and indigenous heritage.

The festivities begin in Porto Seguro with the 1st Symposium on Religious Tourism, featuring discussions on sustainable development, the historical significance of the first Mass in Brazil, and the role of indigenous peoples in national history. Other scheduled activities include a documentary screening titled ‘Terra de Santa Cruz’ in Coroa Vermelha, a religious procession, and various Holy Masses held at the Marco da Primeira Missa and the Capela Santa Cruz.
