Costa Rica dismisses ambassador to Mexico
Pablo Heriberto Abarca has been dismissed from his position as the Costa Rican ambassador to Mexico. Abarca, a former legislator for the Social Christian Unity Party (PUSC), confirmed he received notification of the termination of his appointment.
Abarca expressed gratitude to former President Rodrigo Chaves for the opportunity to represent the country and stated he will remain in his role until November 14 to complete the closing of his management. He did not specify the reasons for the decision.
This dismissal follows recent leadership changes within Costa Rica’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ana Elena Pinto Lizano recently assumed the role of Foreign Minister, following the removal of Manuel Tovar. The diplomatic shifts come amid a period of restructuring within the nation's foreign service.
