Costa Rica environmental volunteers support conservation and accessibility

Various environmental volunteer initiatives are underway in Costa Rica to support conservation and accessibility. In collaboration with Asociación ProParques, HEINEKEN Costa Rica volunteers collected over 400 kilograms of plastic bottle caps. This material will be transformed into plastic wood to build accessible infrastructure, such as walkways and sensory decks, at the Juan Castro Blanco National Park to assist visitors with disabilities.

Separately, the Liga Agrícola Industrial de la Caña de Azúcar (LAICA) organized a reforestation effort near Los Quetzales National Park. A group of 107 volunteers planted 500 trees of six native species within the park's buffer zone and the Cerro Las Vueltas Biological Corridor to improve forest cover and ecosystem connectivity.
