Costa Rica mandates Sinpe Móvil registration as T1 launches business AI

In Costa Rica, the Ministry of Finance has issued Executive Decree No. 45953-H, making it mandatory for taxpayers to register the phone numbers associated with their bank accounts used for Sinpe Móvil payments in their Single Tax Registry (RUT). The measure aims to improve tax traceability and control, addressing concerns regarding informal transactions. According to the Central Bank of Costa Rica, the platform had 4.8 million active lines as of May 2026, moving ¢12.5 trillion during 2025. Merchants have one year to comply with the registration.

In Mexico, Arturo Elías Slim has launched UNO, an artificial intelligence platform developed by T1 to assist businesses with digitalization. UNO utilizes a conversational model allowing users to manage sales through natural language and can perform over 250 actions. The tool integrates with WhatsApp and is designed to help businesses overcome operational obstacles in the digital market. Alongside UNO, T1 introduced T1 POS and T1 Finanzas to provide comprehensive administrative solutions for commercial establishments.
