Costa Rica Open to host international racquetball stars

The 15th anniversary of the Costa Rica Open IRT 600 will take place from August 19 to 22 at the Costa Rica Country Club in Escazú. This tournament marks the beginning of the new professional season for the International Racquetball Tour (IRT).

Approximately 80 athletes from both national and international backgrounds are expected to participate. The professional bracket features top-ranked players, including world number three Andrés Acuña, who is the tournament's top seed, as well as Rodrigo Montoya (5th), Jhonatan Flores (6th), Andree Parrilla (8th), and Javier Mar (10th).

In addition to the professional singles and doubles competitions, the event includes various categories such as Open, Elite A, Elite B, Senior +45, Women's Open, and various Junior divisions. Tournament director Gonzalo Herrera noted that the event remains a premier professional tournament in Latin America.
