Costa Rica to host Spartan National Championship and horse parade in 2026

Costa Rica is preparing for two major public events in 2026. The Spartan Costa Rica National Championship is scheduled to take place on October 11 at Finca Orosi in the mountains of Orosi, Paraíso de Cartago. Organized by Grupo Publicitario, the extreme endurance race aims to leverage the country's topography to promote sports tourism.

In San José, the traditional National Horseman's Day Parade is set to return on December 26, 2026. The procession will begin at Plaza Víquez, move through Calle 11 and Avenida Segunda, proceed along Paseo Colón, and conclude at Parque Metropolitano La Sabana.

Legal experts note that both events require strict adherence to regulatory frameworks. For the Spartan Race, organizers must manage liability and secure municipal and Ministry of Health permits. For the horse parade, organizers must comply with SENASA animal welfare regulations and maintain comprehensive civil liability insurance.
