Costa Rica tourism trends reveal Colombian traveler priorities
A study by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) has identified the key factors influencing Colombian travelers when selecting international destinations. According to the research, Colombian tourists prioritize price, safety, and the availability of experiences that align with their specific interests.
For Costa Rica specifically, 55% of respondents cited value for money as a primary motivation, while 51% highlighted security. Other major draws include exotic landscapes and beaches (57%) and natural beauty and biodiversity (53%).
Travel priorities shift significantly by age. Among travelers over 55, value for money is a top motivator for 65% of respondents. Security concerns also increase with age, rising from a 51% average to 65% for those in the 55 to 64 age bracket.
